Scenar therapy is a natural approach for pain relief. It stimulates the body’s own healing system to release endorphins and other neuropeptides which can help sooth painful injuries/conditions. Scenar also has the benefit of aiding chronic pain at a steady pace as well as acute pain/injuries.
In general, SCENAR treatments feel like a sightly prickly pins and needles sensation. It’s a therapy where strength of the sensations can be modified for each individual depending on how receptive a person is.
One of the big differences between SCENAR and TENS is that the signal in a TENS machine is repetitive which can cause the body to become desensitised to the signal and therefore making the treatment less effective. With SCENAR, the signal is always changing due to the biofeedback mechanism which allows a two-way communication with a patient’s nervous system. This constant change in signal allows the body to redirect activity towards painful areas of the body.
