Which type of massage should I have?
A sports massage will increase blood flow to the targeted muscles and help to reduce tension. This is a great massage to relieve tight muscles, increase flexibility and reduce pain. Reducing muscle tightness helps to prevent injuries. A remedial massage is a therapeutic form of massage which is adapted to suite those with different medical conditions. It is relaxing and calming in nature. This massage will help with relaxation, stress relief, depression and anxiety and long term conditions. Our therapy team are also trained in myofascial release which can be incorporated into a massage where indicated. If you are unsure as to which massage you may benefit from call our client care team on 01243 943023.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing and underwear. Your clinician will need to access the area being treated. You will keep your underwear and towels will be used to keep you warm.
What should I expect from a massage appointment?
On arrival you will be welcomed by our reception team and offered a hot or cold drink. Your clinician will invite you into the clinic. Depending on the area being treated and massaged your clinician will ask you to undress as required and your privacy will be maintained. Towels and pillows will be positioned to keep you warm and comfortable throughout. Your clinician will ask what level of pressure you prefer at the start of your massage and then adjust as needed throughout.
How often should I have sports or remedial massage?
How often you require a massage will depend on you clinical needs. This can be discussed with you clinician at your initial session.
